The story
I was keen to link several of Saas-Fee's 4000ers in a single day. Starting from the Britanniahütte, a Strahlhorn – Rimpfischhorn – Alphubel link-up promised a nice physical challenge, without any particular technical difficulty.
This beautiful late-April day allowed us to carry off the attempt successfully! It was probably a bit bold to try such a big outing a few days after the Mezzalama, with the body not fully rested, but on the other hand it paid off in terms of acclimatisation.
On the other hand, it was probably not the smartest move to race up to the hut the day before (2 h 10 for Saas-Fee → Britanniahütte), piling another 1400 m of ascent onto legs already fairly battered by all the climbing of the previous days... But I just couldn't bring myself to pay 50 CHF (!) for the mere ride up from Saas-Fee to Felskinn.
